The ministry is proposing amendments to Ontario's Refrigerants Regulation (O.Reg. 189/94) to phase-out remaining uses of CFCs in large industrial, commercial, and institutional refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and chillers to implement measures to support industry stewardship plans.

The ministry proposes to adopt a more stringent ODWQS of 0.080 mg/L (80 ug/L) for total Trihalomethanes (THMs) with a phase-in period as recommended by the Advisory Council on Drinking Water Quality and Testing Standards. The ministry proposes to amend O. Regulation 169/03 under the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002 upon adoption of this ODWQS.
