Tarion is seeking input on eight areas to address recommendations from the Auditor General of Ontario. In addition, Tarion is also seeking input on the warranty compensation caps on claims related to environmentally harmful substances or hazards, septic systems and condominium common elements and providing compensation to homeowners where they have to relocate while repairs are underway which arose from a warranted item.

The Ministry of Government and Consumer Services is proposing that amendments to the Condominium Act, 1998 (Condo Act) respecting a "condominium guide" (condo guide) be proclaimed into force, effective December 1, 2020.

Draft regulations setting out which provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 and its regulations could result in an administrative penalty, the amounts of the administrative penalties that could be imposed, and other aspects of proposed administrative penalties. These regulations could be made only if Bill 159, the Rebuilding Consumer Confidence Act, 2020, is passed.

Draft regulations to create an exemption from certain disclosure requirements on ticket batches, set rules for ticket transferability and the provision of paper tickets upon request, and update the Act's administrative penalty regime. These proposed changes, if approved, would come into force with the proclamation of amendments made under the Protecting What Matters Most Act (Budget Measures), 2019 and proposed amendments under Bill 159, the Rebuilding Consumer Confidence Act, 2020, if passed.
