Approved Regulatory Proposals
We are considering making a new regulation and regulation changes, including transitional matters, under the Planning Act which are needed as a result of Schedule 12 to Bill 108 - the More Homes, More Choices Act, 2019.

The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) is proposing to amend Ontario Regulation 525/97 (Exemption from Approval (Official Plan Amendments)) under the Planning Act in order to exempt certain municipalities from the requirement to obtain the Minister's approval of official plan amendments.

The Housing Services Act, 2011 establishes the legislative framework for social housing in Ontario. Rent-geared-to-income assistance is administered locally by 47 Service Managers (municipalities and district social services administration boards) designated under the Housing Services Act, 2011 to manage social housing programs across the province.

The Housing Services Act, 2011 establishes the legislative framework for social housing in Ontario. Under this Act, 47 Service Managers (municipalities and district social services administration boards) are required to administer waiting lists for access to rent-geared-to-income assistance in social housing in their service area, in compliance with detailed rules.

The government has released A Place to Grow which replaces the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, 2017. We are seeking feedback on proposed modifications to the Minister's transition regulation to support implementation of the Plan. The proposed changes, if approved, would transition specific planning matters currently in process.

The MNRF has developed a Strategic Policy for Bait Management in Ontario that directs how bait will be managed in the future. The ministry is now seeking feedback on this proposed policy.
