The Ministry of Transportation has made regulatory amendments to HTA Regulation 369/09 (Power-Assisted Bicycles) to allow for continued motor engagement when braking is applied.
As a result, manufacturers will no longer require a "kill switch" to be installed in order to disengage the motor. This change allows for newer technology e-bikes to be used, reduces the regulatory burden, responds to requests from industry stakeholders and potentially benefits consumers by reducing the need for cost

Health Canada has proposed changes to require a prescription for all antimicrobial drugs that are deemed medically-important for human health. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) is proposing a consequential amendment to the Livestock Medicines Act (LMA) Regulation 730 to prohibit the sale of veterinary drugs on the Prescription Drug List by retail outlets licensed to sell livestock medicine and otherwise update the list to reflect what is and can be sold by LMOs.
