The ministry is seeking feedback on proposed legislation that would ensure that official plan decisions are made in a manner that supports our goal of building at least 1.5 million homes and that maintains and reinforces public trust.
The Planning Statute Law Amendment Act, 2023 was introduced on November 16, 2023, and if passed, would enact the Official Plan Adjustments Act, 2023 which would reverse decisions on official plans affecting 12 municipalities: Barrie, Belleville, Guelph, Hamilton, Ottawa, Peterborough, Halton, Niagara, Peel, Waterloo, York, Wellington. The Act would also amend the Planning Act to introduce immunity provisions relating to minister's zoning order powers.

The proposed amendments to Ontario Regulation 436/22 (Definitions and Prescribed Provisions) would prescribe requirements under s. 9 (3) of the Building Broadband Faster Act, 2021 that project proponents must follow when they are authorized by the Minister of Infrastructure to conduct work for designated broadband projects.

The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services is proposing regulation amendments to the current Administration and Cost Sharing regulation as a result of recent legislative changes.
The proposed amendments are technical changes to reflect that the current cost-sharing relationship between the ministry and municipalities and District Social Services Administration Boards in specific geographic areas will continue where the ministry becomes the delivery agent.
There will be no impact at this time to cost sharing or funding arrangements as a result of the proposed regulation. Cost sharing will be reviewed at a later date once the ministry has refined the new program structure.

The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services is moving forward with its plan to streamline and improve service delivery for Ontario Works by sharing administrative responsibility for the program. The ministry is proposing amendments to designate itself as the delivery agent in the following geographic areas, and to designate the following as the first delivery partners for those areas; The District Municipality of Muskoka; the County of Peterborough and City of Peterborough; and the Regional Municipality of York.
Additional amendments are proposed to explain the powers and duties of the delivery agent and the delivery partner.

The Ministry of Finance is proposing to make a regulatory amendment to reduce burden on credit unions and investors by eliminating the requirement for credit unions to include the last audited financial statements that were tabled before members in any offering statement.
The existing requirement that the audited financial statements be approved by the board and signed by the CEO would remain as that is important material information for investors.
The proposed amendment would remove "that were placed before the members at the most recent annual general meeting" from section 13(5)(1) of Part IV of O. Reg. 105/22.
