Consideration of transition of land use planning matters to facilitate the introduction of a new policy statement issued under the Planning Act.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has issued the Provincial Planning Statement, taking effect on October 20, 2024. The Minister is seeking feedback as to whether there are any specific planning matters (or types of matters) in process that should be addressed through a transition regulation (under the Planning Act) to facilitate its implementation.

Consultation on potential Minister's regulation to exempt certain broadband projects from the requirement to use the dedicated locator model

The Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement (MPBSDP) is proposing a new regulation under the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act, 2012 (the One Call Act) that would exempt certain designated broadband projects from the requirement to use the dedicated locator (DL) model. This potential regulation is intended to support the government's commitment to bring high-speed internet access to unserved and underserved homes and businesses by the end of 2025.
