Proposed amendments to Regulation O. Reg. 329/04 (General) under the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA) to support contribution to the provincial Electronic Health Record

The Ministry of Health is posting a notice of a proposed regulation to amend O. Reg. 329/04 (General) made under PHIPA ("the PHIPA General Regulation") that would support enhancing data completeness in the provincial Electronic Health Record (EHR). In addition to the existing requirement for operators of public hospitals, the proposed amendments would, if approved, require operators of accredited community pharmacies and integrated community health services centres to contribute certain personal health information to the EHR as requested by Ontario Health and in accordance with OH's interoperability specifications.

Consultation on potential circumstances where digging may continue beyond the locate validity period without having to request a new locate.

The Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery (MPBSD) is considering developing a new regulation under the One Call Act that would change locate requirements in prescribed circumstances. This potential regulation is intended to address stakeholder concerns regarding delays to construction projects and financial burdens related to legislated requirements that a new locate is required once the locate validity period has expired (minimum of 60 days). The ministry is considering permitting the continuation of digging beyond the locate validity period in prescribed circumstances and is seeking stakeholder feedback on the proposed approach.

Reducing Burden in the Transition from Summer to Winter Gasoline under O. Reg. 271/91

Ontario is proposing to ease restrictions on offloading winter-grade gasoline from ships before the winter switchover date. We are also proposing clarifications about gasoline testing methods. This would reduce burden on industry and ensure consistency with national standards, while maintaining protection of human health and the environment.

Proposal to Expand the Jurisdiction of the Condominium Authority Tribunal

The Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery (ministry) is considering potential amendments under the Condominium Act, 1998 (Condo Act) to expand the jurisdiction of the Condominium Authority Tribunal (CAT) allowing online dispute resolution for disputes related to owners' meetings.

Proposed change to the AgriInsurance Program - Designation of Agricultural Products.

OMAFRA is proposing an amendment to O. Reg. 267/15 under the Agricultural Products Insurance Act, 1996 to add rye to the list of designated agricultural product for which Agricorp must offer a contract of insurance under the AgriInsurance Program. This change is needed to allow Agricorp to offer an AgriInsurance plan for fall rye grown for grain.

We are proposing regulatory amendments Ontario Regulation 667/98 (Trapping) under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act,1997 (FWCA), to change design specifications of relaxing cable restraints used for trapping in Ontario. Changes are being proposed to the maximum rating of breakaway components and minimum cable loop requirements.

Public consultation on proposed amendments to the Succession Law Reform Act (SLRA) to offer greater clarity to substitute decision makers and financial institutions regarding beneficiary designations for a plan.

The Ministry of Attorney General (MAG) is considering possible amendments to the Succession Law Reform Act (SLRA) to clarify that, where a beneficiary designation for a plan (as defined in s. 50 of the SLRA) has been made by instrument, substitute decision-makers may, by instrument, designate a beneficiary if the plan is being renewed, replaced with, converted or transferred to a similar instrument and the beneficiary remains the same.
