OMAFRA is proposing to consolidate, update, and replace the existing regulations that govern the ministry's Financial Protection Programs with new sector specific Minister's regulations which will lead to a more modern and effective regulatory system that delivers greater producer protection. These proposed two new regulations are needed to operationalize the new Protecting Farmers from Non-Payment Act, and to align the regulations with existing policies and industry practices.

We are seeking comments on a proposal to amend Ontario Regulation 73/94 to exempt five Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act (LRIA) orders that are prescribed proposals for instruments, from the requirements of Part II of the Environmental Bill of Rights (EBR Act) except the requirement to post a decision notice. If approved, proposal notices for these orders would no longer be required to be posted for consultation on the Environmental Registry

The Ontario government is proposing to amend Ontario Regulation 390/19 (Prescribed Organization) to have Critical Care Services Ontario ("CCSO"), a program of the University Health Network ("UHN"), prescribed as an organization in accordance to subsections 40(2) and 40(3.1) of the Connecting Care Act, 2019 (the "Act") for the purposes of subsection 40(1) of that Act that allows for the potential transfer of CCSO to Ontario Health. This will further support Ontario Health's role in critical care.

In June 2023, the Better Schools and Student Outcomes Act, 2023 was passed (the Act). The provisions in the Act, once proclaimed, are intended to ensure effective governance and leadership across all school boards to support the successful delivery of provincial education priorities.
To support this intent, the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) has proposed a new regulation to establish the minimum qualifications for Integrity Commissioners hired by school boards to investigate code of conduct complaints and to establish the processes and procedural requirements to address code of conduct complaints.

In June 2023, the Better Schools and Student Outcomes Act, 2023 was passed (the Act). To support effective governance, provisions of the Act, once proclaimed, will expand sanctions for breaches of trustee codes of conduct. One of those possible sanctions is a reduction of the trustee's honorarium up to a maximum amount set out in regulation.
The Ministry of Education (the Ministry) has proposed to set out, in a Minister's regulation, the maximum amount of the reduction in a trustee's honorarium as a sanction for breaching a school board's trustee code of conduct.
