The inhabitants of Dennis Township have recommended to the Minister of Northern Development and Mines the establishment of the Local Services Board of Dennis Township South and have requested that it be designated with the Powers of Fire Protection, Garbage Collection, Recreation and Emergency Telecommunications.

The Ontario Invasive Species Act, 2015 comes into force on November 3, 2016. The Act provides the power to make regulations prescribing invasive species and classifying them as either prohibited or restricted. A prohibited invasive species is subject to all of the prohibitions in section 7 of the Act unless there are exceptions provided in the regulation.

The ministry is proposing amendments to Regulation 683 under the LSCCLA to strengthen quality oversight in Ontario's licensed hospital-owned and community-based specimen collection centres (SCCs) by making it a condition of licensing that SCCs meet the requirements of a quality management program (QMP). If the proposed amendments to Regulation 683 (Reg. 683) are approved, SCCs would be subject to a new accreditation program.

The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change is proposing regulations under the Waste Diversion Transition Act, 2016 (WDTA) for the purposes of transferring the four waste diversion programs to the WDTA. Until the programs are wound-up and the wastes managed under the programs are transitioned to the new producer responsibility framework under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016, the programs will operate under the WDTA.

Pursuant to the Professional Geoscientists Act, 2000 (PGA), subject to the approval of the Minister of Northern Development and Mines, the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) council may make regulations in respect of items listed in the PGA.
