College of Psychologists of Ontario: Expansion of the Emergency Class Certificate of Registration
The College of Psychologists of Ontario is proposing amendments to:
1. Move the emergency class provisions for psychologists and psychological associates from O. Reg. 74/15 made under the Psychology Act, 1991 to O. Reg. 193/23 made under the Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis Act, 2021; and
2. Amend O.Reg. 193/23 made under the Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis Act, 2021, to expand the emergency class certificate of registration to include behaviour analysts.
Proposed amendments to the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA), if Bill 149, the Working for Workers Four Act, 2023, passes
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development is proposing to amend the ESA to: clarify employee wage protections where a customer has stolen goods or services; require that employees are paid for trial periods; require that employers disclose certain tipping policies; set out methods for the payment of tips and provide that employees would select the account if they are paid wages or tips by direct deposit; require employers to include pay information and disclose the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in job postings, and prohibit the requirement of Canadian experience in job postings; and clarify vacation pay provisions.
Centralization of Broader Real Estate Authority (CBREA) Proposed Regulatory Amendments
If the proposed amendments to four Lieutenant Governor in Council (LGIC) regulations are approved and come into force, it would make the authority of prescribed entities to deal with real property subject to any limits imposed by section 11.0.1 of the Ministry of Infrastructure Act, 2011 (MOI Act). Therefore, if a regulation is made prescribing the four entities for the purposes of section 11.0.1 of the MOI Act, this would remove and/or modify the realty authority of these four entities under Phase 1 of the CBREA initiative and provide the Minister of Infrastructure with control of real property previously under the control of the entities.
