We have amended Regulation 347 to remove requirements for the collection, storage and transportation of hazardous waste generated by COVID-19 antigen testing. The waste is still required to be disposed of at approved biomedical waste disposal site.

Ministry of Long-Term Care considering regulatory amendments to enhance cooling requirements in long-term care homes to improve safety & comfort of residents. Proposal includes requirement for air conditioning or equivalent mechanical cooling systems in designated cooling areas & refined regulatory approach to clarify requirements for licensees to better protect residents from hot weather-related concerns. Residents would be protected from unacceptably high temperatures.
