Effective January 1, 2022, the Compensation for Victims of Crime Act (CVCA), which establishes the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB) and for which the Ministry of the Attorney General is responsible, will be repealed.
Therefore, a consequential amendment to O. Reg 347/18 under the Police Record Checks Reform Act, 2015 (PRCRA) has been made to revoke s.16 "Criminal Injuries Compensation Board."

The Ministry of the Attorney General has obtained approval to make a consequential regulatory amendment to O. Reg. 563/20 under the Solicitors Act to replace outdated references to the Legal Aid Services Act, 1998 (LASA 1998) with references to the Legal Aid Services Act, 2020 (LASA 2020). The consequential amendment to O. Reg. 563/20 under the Solicitors Act will come into effect on the same day that the new LASA 2020 comes into force.

On April 19, 2021, the Legislature passed amendments to the Courts of Justice Act and other statutes to change the title of a "case management master" to that of an "associate judge" as part of Bill 245, Accelerating Access to Justice Act. As a result of these statutory amendments, consequential regulatory changes have also been made to replace all instances of "case management master" with the new title of "associate judge".

The Ministry of the Solicitor General (SolGen) is proposing to modify the list of prescribed organizations in O. Reg. 447/19 that can assume ownership of animals where the owner or custodian of the animal is not identified or has not claimed the animal. This is to provide these animal sheltering organizations and the public with clarity and consistency in who can take ownership of found, abandoned or unclaimed animals.

The Building Transit Faster Act, 2020 (BTFA) introduces measures that streamline project delivery and support the accelerated completion of the priority transit projects identified in the "New Subway Transit Plan for the GTA", and any other projects prescribed through regulation.
