The consequential amendments are required in anticipation of proclamation of the Not-For-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA). ONCA is replacing the Corporations Act to govern much of Ontario's not-for-profit sector including Ontario Media Development Corporation and Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation. The amendments replace references to the Corporations Act with appropriate references to the ONCA.

Ontario Regulation 517/21 under the Alcohol, Cannabis and Gaming Regulation and Public Protection Act, 1996 is revoked and a new regulation under the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario Act, 2019 continues iGaming Ontario (iGO).
Consequential amendments to Regulation 460 under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Regulation 336/07 under the Archives and Recordkeeping Act, 2006 are made to ensure iGO is subject to the requirements of those Acts.

The proposed regulatory amendment, if approved, would allow Metrolinx to expand GO train service to Southwestern Ontario. The expanded GO train service is expected to fill transit service gaps in Southwestern Ontario due to VIA rail and bus service suspensions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The proposal would see GO train service expanded to London, Stratford, and St. Marys, which are all currently outside of the GO Transit service area defined in O. Reg. 189/09.
