The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has amended Ontario Regulation 473/07 (Licences for Driving Instructors and Driving Schools) under the Highway Traffic Act, via O.R. 173/12. This amendment implements fee changes for driving instructor licence applications effective September 1, 2013 as the government publicly announced on March 13, 2012 and in the 2012 Budget.

The Ministry of Transportation is increasing fees for several driver and vehicle licence services and products. The fee increases are designed to be modest and recover the costs required to deliver the service or product to customers and support our infrastructure. While the costs of maintaining our roads and bridges have risen over time, many fees have not. To help pay for rising costs, modest and gradual fee increases are necessary.

The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services is proposing to amend Ontario Regulation 435/07 (Exemptions from the Act) under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005. The regulation is being amended to support the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) plans to use private security services for the Toronto 2015 Pan American/Parapan American Games.
