Amendments to Regulation 552 under the Health Insurance Act, Evidence Based Changes to the Schedule of Benefits for Physician Services

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has submitted changes to Regulation 552 under the Health Insurance Act which include changes to the OHIP payments for Physician Services through the Schedule of Benefits for Physician Services.

The Open for Business Act, 2010 made changes to the Environmental Protection Act (EPA) and the Ontario Water Resources Act (OWRA) as they relate to the process for issuing environmental approvals in Ontario. Regulation amendment under the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 - clarifying eHealth Ontario's authority to create Electronic Health Records.

The regulation amendment made under the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA) clarifies that eHealth Ontario can create and maintain Electronic Health Records as a service for Health Information Custodians, when it is acting as a Health Information Network Provider for those Custodians. The amendment would define "creating or maintaining" Electronic Health Records as including the integration, management and servicing of those records.

Amending regulation under the Highway 407 Act, 1998, ‘Ontario Regulation 138/00’

An amendment to permit 407 ETR to use alternate methods, such as email, for sending notices legislated in the Highway 407 Act, 1998, where the customer consents. The amendment would also clarify definitions and define time spans for which notices are ‘deemed received’.

Under the OCTAA, the Board of Governors may make regulations on a variety of subject matters, including the scope of practice of a trade, subject to the prior review of the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities and the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
