The Open for Business Act, 2010 made changes to the Environmental Protection Act (EPA) and the Ontario Water Resources Act (OWRA) as they relate to the process for issuing environmental approvals in Ontario. The regulation amendment made under the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA) clarifies that eHealth Ontario can create and maintain Electronic Health Records as a service for Health Information Custodians, when it is acting as a Health Information Network Provider for those Custodians. The amendment would define "creating or maintaining" Electronic Health Records as including the integration, management and servicing of those records.
