2013 Long-Term Care (LTC) home and Hospital Chronic Care co-payment increase

The approved amendments to regulations outline the annual increase to the LTC home and chronic care co-payment rates. The amendment also increases the premiums for residents admitted to preferred accommodations in newer LTC homes that meet the ministry's highest design standards on or after July 1, 2013. In addition, the amendment will increase the dependant deduction amounts used by LTC home residents when applying for a reduced co-payment rate.

Regulation under the Planning Act Regarding the Township of McGarry

Ontario Regulation 187/12 (Delegation of Authority - Township of McGarry) O. Reg. 187/12 delegates the authority of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing under: -Subsections50(18) of the Planning Act to approve a foreclosure or exercise of power of sale; -Section 53 of the Planning Act to give consents; and, -Section 57 of the Planning Act to issue certificates of validation to the council of the Township of McGarry with respect to all applications for land in that municipality

Ministry of Transportation is proposing the allowance of a ten day period after expiry to affix a validation sticker to a licence plate if an eligible client chooses the online channel to perform their renewal transaction prior to the expiry of the existing validation sticker.

Amendments to Ontario Regulation 79/10 (Part VI, Funding) under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007

Proposed regulatory amendments to the Ontario Regulation 79/10, Part VI, Funding (Regulation) under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 (LTCHA) would clarify the resident income that is to be taken into account when determining the rate reduction rate for residents in basic accommodation. The proposed amendments would also extend the time to submit rate reduction applications, reduce unnecessary administrative burden relating to the rate reduction system and include other technical changes.

Proposed Amendments to Ontario Regulation 413/05, Vehicle Weights and Dimensions - For Safe, Productive, and Infrastructure-Friendly (SPIF) Vehicles

MTO is proposing to amend Ontario Regulation 413/05 to increase flexibility and to better harmonize with the rules of other jurisdictions for a common tractor-trailer combination. In addition, MTO proposes to limit weights for certain truck-trailer combinations to improve safety and performance. Finally, MTO is also proposing to make minor modifications to ensure that consistent terminology is used in the regulation.

The Ministry of Transportation is proposing to add the European helmet standard, commonly known as ECE 22.05, to the list of recognized standards in Ontario Regulation 610.

Proposed amendments to Ontario Regulation 363/04, Security of Loads

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is proposing to modernize and harmonize the requirements for cargo securement in Ontario by adopting the most recent version of National Safety Code (NSC) Standard 10 dated September 2010.

Proposed amendments to Ontario Regulation 512/97 (Critical Defects of Commercial Motor Vehicles).

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is proposing to amend Regulation 512/97 to ensure that unsafe commercial vehicles are removed from Ontario?s roads and to make certain that the inspection procedures for air brake equipped commercial motor vehicles are consistent within regulations under the Highway Traffic Act.

Industry proposed changes to the Grain Financial Protection Program

At the request of grain industry stakeholders, OMAFRA is proposing amendments to the regulations governing the Grain Financial Protection Program. The proposed changes would: allow deferred payments of any duration under the Grains Act; increase the time for dealers to make payments on sales from storage; lower the initial percentage payment on basis contracts; increase the compensation for canola and soybean producers; and allow compensation related to deferred payments on a sliding scale.

Consistent with the statutory amendments in Schedule 17 of the Better Tomorrow for Ontario Act (Budget Measures), 2011, proposed amendments under the Gaming Control Act, 1992 (GCA) to replace the existing regulations under the GCA.

Amendments to the Gaming Control Act, 1992 (GCA) in Schedule 17 of the Better Tomorrow for Ontario Act (Budget Measures), 2011 permit the development of a new risk-based regulatory framework for gaming. These proposed regulatory amendments under the GCA would replace the existing four regulations with one comprehensive regulation that would provide a more flexible regulatory framework to allow the AGCO to better focus on risks to the integrity of gaming and accommodate new forms of gaming.
